The boat loves her new sailBeen out for six or so hours of playing with the boat, more specifically, her new mainsail, which is fab.
We had enough wind for about three hours, then it dropped off to nothing by the time we came back in. The difference in performance was pretty big. I'm more than pleased.
We're keeping an eye on the weather, as it's a tad unpredictable at the moment and may get slightly colder than the last few days. As soon as we get a better idea, we'll be off for a bit of overnighting too.
Despite not sailing very often during last Winter, we haven't lost our sea legs and got into the swing of things straight away. The bloody stinkpots (powerboats) still haven't learnt any manners (most of them) and a few alarmed me by bearing down on us at as close as 150 metres, whilst doing stupid speeds. Must add a paint gun to my list.
Speaking of lists, I've got everything ready for the weekend, Sin and Mascots included.
As we were tidying the boat away and hosing her down, the Curry Fiend skulked past. He then turned and came over to see us. After much grovelling, apologies and thanks to Fur for not beating him to a pulp ('twas I he should have thanked for restraining him), we accepted the apology and will leave it at that.
His boat is only a few paces away from ours and spending the entire season feeling awkward when around at the same time was going to be difficult. He also lives a stone's throw from us (nowt like poohing in your own back yard). It's highly unlikely that we'll ever be best pals, but at least the air has cleared somewhat.
