Lol. Poor Fur, maybe a heated, moist towel for his neck? Not too hot though.

More thick socks for you, perhaps? :-)

It has always been my belief that with hot pads, hot water bottles etc, whilst they initially comfort the pain, do more harm than good, in as much as they help to inflame the site more. Now a pack of frozen peas is the real thing! but being cold, not so comfortable.

It`l be "interesting" getting into Brighton then? :o))

The thing with heated pads, etc, and with frozen veggies is that you should not allow them to touch bare skin; always have something between the two, like a face towel or some such.

The second thing to keep in mind is no more than 20 minutes on, then 20 minutes off, and repeat. The point is to not damage the skin and muscle, as too much heat, as you say, Rob, can cause damage, and frozen veggies (or fruit) are much, much, much too cold and can give you frostbite. :-)
